We are happy to introduce children to the animals (chickens, sheep, horses, dog and cats) if they are interested. There is a DVD player in the room, so why not bring along a favourite DVD.
We have cats and a dog in the main house. They are not permitted in the guest accommodation. They are also excluded from the kitchen at times of preparing and handling food. Gwarllwyn may not be suitable for anyone suffering from dog, cat or horse allergies.
Our own dog, Tilly-Mint, is very friendly and wants everyone to love her. She was found aged nine months after being dumped and has settled well. She loves visitors and would love to welcome you. We understand some people are not enthusiastic about dogs, therefore please let us know before your visit and we will make sure that she is kept away for the duration of your visit.
There are two ceiling lights in the main bedroom and there are also bedside lamps. The T.V. is a 32″ flat screen with Freeview, an intrgrated DVD player and a remote control. There is a small DVD library. The bedroom door has a key lock and you will be provided with a front door key. The radio alarm clock has a docking station for your ipod or iphone. Homemade cake is usually available made with the eggs from our rescued ex battery hens.
Heating is via central heating and there are hot water bottles and electric blankets. There is also a a small electric heater in the bedroom.
For those booking longer stays bedding is changed after the third night, so you get that lovely fresh bedding smell over and over. Towels are changed daily, including hand towels as most of our guests like the great outdoors.

We do use nuts in the kitchen.

A land line telephone is available upon request for reasonable calls.
A fire risk assessment has been carried out and all fire escapes are clearly marked. Ground floor windows open outwards and also allow a means of escape. We have wi-fi smoke alarms which are linked to the main house.
GARDEN: A secluded area of our beautiful garden is set aside for use by guests, with a picnic table provided, so that you can sit outside and enjoy the surroundings. The garden is sloping and there are narrow steps up into this area. There is a small pond in the garden, so small children will need to be supervised.

FIND US: The A40 runs from Brecon to Llandovery. Coming from the Brecon direction – 2 miles before you reach Llandovery you will see a sign to your right ‘Pentre Ty Gwyn & Babel‘. Take this turn. (If your sat nav tells you at Halfway to turn off at Pentre Bach ignore it, unless you have a 4×4 and are willing to use it.) Proceed 100 yards down the hill, over small hump-back bridge . (Don’t follow B&B sign – that is someone else !) Turn sharp RIGHT at the Post box. Proceed exactly 2 miles along a very narrow winding lane (Take care – you may meet a tractor). Gwarllwyn is the second house on your left – metal gate down drive to house – house name beside the gate.
If coming from the Llandovery direction on the A40 – take the Pentre Ty Gwyn & Babel sign on your left two miles out of Llandovery – then proceed as above.
If using SAT NAV – our post code – SA20 0RR will bring you to the house. If travelling from the Brecon direction stay on the A40 until you see the Babel/Pentre Ty Gwyn sign.
